Hola Adventure!

I am back! This past week, Michael and I were on an adventure in Mexico visiting his family. We had a BLAST! This was our third time vacationing around the Yucatan Peninsula together. Yes... we feel so lucky and spoiled! Having family that lives in Mexico is wonderful.

We began our adventure on the Island of Holbox. Holbox is located just off the coast from the town, Chiquila. There are no cars on the island, only golf carts and bicycles are used as transportation. We enjoyed the islands unique art, delicious seafood and beautiful white sand beaches.

Our next stop was Valladolid. We stopped in Valladolid to enjoy our favorite yucatecan treat, panuchos! Panuchos are a delicious tortilla filled with black beans and topped with your choice of meat, cabbage, tomato, avocado, pickled red onion and pickled jalapeno pepper. Yummy!

We spent a few days in the city, Merida, where Michael's parents live and even explored a beautiful Cenote! My favorite part of the trip was our visit to Celestun. We took a boat tour and saw THOUSANDS of flamingos. The sight was spectacular!

Our visit to Mexico was full of quality time with family. I am feeling relaxed and inspired, happy to be home with my Dusty doodle! If you are interested in seeing more photos from our adventure, check out my flickr photo set, Mexico 2014.

Winter Blues

Lately I have had a bad case of winter blues. All I want to do is lounge in my pajamas and watch netflix all day. On Sunday Michael, Dusty and I went on a little day date to Triple C Brewing Company. It was just what I needed to snap out of my funk!

Michael is getting ready to launch a blog all about craft beer, I love to join him on all his craft beer tasting adventures. Triple C was especially fun because it is dog friendly. Michael and I laughed and drank some beer while Dusty got to run around and play with all the other dogs. It was too fun!

We started out by getting a flight to share. We sampled the Light Rail Pale Ale, Smoked Amber, Greenway IPA and the 3 C IPA. The Smoked Amber was my favorite but they were all delicious!

Later Michael got the Road to Nowhere Porter and I got the Golden Boy Blonde because the name reminded me of Dusty! :) We had a great time, I can't wait to go again.

Happy Monday everyone! What are you doing to cope with winter blues?
